Children's Birthday Parties at Ravensprings Park

Looking for a birthday party that's a little different? Why not celebrate at Ravensprings Park and enjoy exclusive use of our miniature railway and grounds?
On the final Sunday of each month from April to September, Ravensprings Park is available to hire for children's birthday parties, giving you and your guests the whole site to yourselves.
With unlimited train rides, plenty of outdoor space and our volunteer team on hand to keep the railways running, it's a memorable day out for children and adults alike.
What's Included in the Party and What are the Costs?
Your party includes exclusive hire of the entire site for up to 50 guests.
During your party you'll have:
- Unlimited rides on both of our miniature railways
- Exclusive use of the park
- Access to our clubhouse throughout your booking
- Tables and chairs for your guests
- A small kitchen with kettle, fridge and food preparation space
- Accessible toilet facilities with baby changing
- Outdoor seating and picnic tables (weather permitting)
You're welcome to bring your own food, drinks and birthday cake to enjoy in the clubhouse or outside if the weather is kind.
An important safety note to brief your guests about is that children riding our trains will need to be able to sit upright AND be able to make contact with footboards on our carriages. Those who cannot, must be accompanied by a parent or older child who can meet these requirements. Shoes are also a requirement of travel. It remains at the discretion of our staff to refuse a ride for any safety related reasons, but we will always endeavour to help find an appropriate safe solution where possible.
If the weather is fine, we also have some external chairs and tables which can be used in the event you want to move your guests outside from the clubhouse.
We do ask that you tidy the clubhouse after the party and remove any rubbish from site as we do not have a collection from the kerb.

Times and Price
Cost: £300
Your booking includes:
- Access from 1:00 pm to set up
- Train rides from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm
- Departure by 5:00 pm
To help keep everyone safe, guests should park on the road. Parking inside the site is available only for disabled visitors and must be arranged in advance.
Keeping everyone safe
The safety of our visitors is always our highest priority.
Children travelling on our trains must be able to:
- Sit upright without assistance
- Reach the carriage footboards
Children who cannot meet these requirements must travel with a parent or older child who can safely support them.
- All passengers must wear suitable footwear
Our volunteer train crews may occasionally need to refuse a ride if they believe it would be unsafe, but they will always do their best to find a safe alternative so everyone can enjoy the day.
Before you leave
We simply ask that you:
- Leave the clubhouse tidy
- Take all rubbish home with you, as we do not have a refuse collection on site

The large grounds include two tracks, a club house and grassed area which is ideal for picnics whilst also providing a safe area for children to play in between train rides.

We have limited on-site parking for pre-booked disabled visitors, members or visitors with locomotives.
Members of the public are requested to park on the road, but please park courteously so as not to inconvenience our neighbours.

Our 7 1/4” gauge track is well over 1000 ft long. It has a 2 platform station with passing loop, an additional diversionary loop and tunnel, all protected by a colour light signalling system.

Multiple gauge 2 1/2”, 3 1/2” & 5” gauges on an approx. 660 feet circular loop which operates the immediate perimeter of the grassed main area.
Clubhouse
Our clubhouse will be entirely at your disposal. Feel free to decorate it for your party or use the kitchen to prepare hot snacks for your guests.
All we ask is you leave the clubhouse in the same state as you found it.
